Gus Sepulveda is a Senior Engineer and Managing Director at Queenstown IT.
Originally from Patagonia in the south region of Chile, Gus holds his home culture close to his heart but is a true Queenstown Local having been a resident since 2003.
Prior to starting Queenstown IT in 2007, Gus worked as an IT Consultant for the Chilean Government and University where he completed studies in Chile; he was also an avid contributor to some of today’s most popular Open-Source platforms.
Additionally, Gus strive to be the first adopter, biggest influencer, and best promoter of relevant technologies for his clients which include some of New Zealand most iconic enterprises and individuals. He routinely shares his insights in optimising business results through the use of technology, fueling innovation, and enabling IT operational excellence.
Gus holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with a Major in Networking and Security from the Catholic University of the North in Chile and a New Zealand Diploma in Business from the Southern Institute of Technology in New Zealand.
With more than 20 years of knowledge & hands on experience in Consultancy, Programming, Networks, Infrastructure, Technical Support, and Design; Gus has established a reputation as a progressive Entrepreneur & Managing Director for 3 successful companies with a passion for business excellence and helping others.
A contributing supporter of the community in many ways from volunteering his Translation Services at the Queenstown Courthouse and Police; to being an active member of the Institute of Directors NZ and sitting on the Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) Advisory Committee for the Tech Industry.
Originally from the Netherlands; Angela arrived in Auckland in 2011 to complete a placement for her Hotel Management study. She fell in love with the country instantly and decided she wanted to call New Zealand home. She relocated to Queenstown in 2016 and is now well settled with her partner and daughter.
Angela completed a Bachelor in Business Administration with focus in the Hotel Industry. She has years of hospitality experience, mainly at the Front Office, in multiple countries. Her career grew over the years and she ended up as a Front Office Manager in a Queenstown hotel. With a team of 18 people in a 24 /7 business Angela learned the importance of multi-tasking, communicating and supporting quickly. However the daily focus were our customers; making them feel cared for, valued and respected. These experiences and skills are easily transferred in Angela’s current role.
In her time off work, Angela’s time is mostly spent with Gus and their daughter. Together they found a new hobby; swimming. When the little one gets a bit older, Angela is looking forward to start baking goodies together.
Originally from Sydney Australia; Glen and his partner relocated to Queenstown in 2018 to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. Having visited Queenstown many times over a period of years and seeing the lifestyle on offer, he knew this was the right place to settle down.
Glen started his employment as a Draftsman in the Mechanical Engineering field and through his use of the software Autocad, he gained a passion for computers and assisting those in need of support. Eventually moving away from Drafting and into a career in IT, Glen worked on several contracts providing IT Support and Services to Defence, State and Federal Government.
Glen spent 8 years as the IT Support/Service Desk Manager at the Australian Federal Government agency AUSTRAC. AUSTRAC is Australia’s Financial Intelligence Unit dealing with anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing. His role was to lead a team of technical support specialists providing IT support to staff across multiple locations both nationally and internationally.
Glen has a genuine desire to assist his customers and believes in providing them with timely and effective services to solve their problems. He communicates with his customers clearly and honestly with empathy and diligence. He enjoys the challenges of IT and prides himself on taking ownership of tasks and projects from beginning to end.
Glen enjoys all things outdoor whether it be skiing in the colder months to mountain biking and hiking in the warmer months. He also enjoys a BBQ and catching up with friends.
Charlie De alwis
Charlie, originally from Colombo Sri Lanka, migrated to Auckland in 2015 to pursue his dream of completing a recognized qualification in Information Technology. After moving to New Zealand, he was able to successfully complete a Diploma in Computing – Level 5 followed by the National Diploma in Computing – Level 6 at NTEC.
Charlie started his career in IT back in Sri Lanka where he worked as an IT Technician at NT Solutions. During this hands-on role, Charlie was able to gain experience in computer servicing and repair, troubleshooting network related issues and performed graphic design tasks. In 2014 Charlie decided to move to Sri Lankan Airlines as a trainee IT Technician to increase his knowledge and skills mainly on second level Help Desk support, configuring and monitoring network equipment and LAN / patch panel cabling.
After arriving to New Zealand Charlie was able to strengthen his customer relations skills by working for multiple Hilton luxury hotels. His capability of quickly building rapport with customers through politeness and transparency is a strength Charlie is eager to apply to the IT industry.
Charlie has a habit of keeping himself busy after work hours, as an active member of LEO Club of Colombo Knights – District 306 C2 in Sri Lanka, where he held the fulfilling positions of Club Director and Treasurer during the past years. Charlie is the founder / partner of a Charity Organization for children established in Sri Lanka, “Build A Smile”.
